Here, I explore how prototypes can function as tools for understanding personal experiences and interactions with the world around us. You'll find details on the prototype I developed in class and ongoing reflections on how 1PP can shape my design practice.
In collaboration with Auxence, I developed a prototype inspired by his project on artificial cloud creation. He’s addressing the environmental concerns around artificial clouds, particularly how they contain microparticles that can move across areas and potentially harm human health. My prototype, The Atmosphere Box, represents the idea that we all share the same atmosphere. Playing with Role 2 of Prototyping, the prototype was designed as a tool for participation. It can be passed from person to person, inviting them to interact by breathing into the box while answering questions. This interaction helps to collect data on public perceptions of shared environmental resources and the hidden consequences of "playing God" by manipulating the environment.
